D'Alfonso del Sordo's Casteldrione is made from 100% Nero di Troia. In the glass, the wine sits a deep ruby color with garnet highlights. Aromas of baked blackberries, dried cranberries and savory herbs waft enticingly from the glass. On the palate, the Casteldrione is medium- to full-bodied with a soft acidity and moderate, fine-grained tannins. Flavors of ripe blueberries, baked cherries and a clay-like minerality wash across the palate, leading into a dry, appetizing finish
